With Christmas - and 2021- behind us, 2022 looks set to be one of our busiest years yet as a backlog of brides rush to the altar. As we prepare for such an exciting and bustling year ahead, we decided to catch up with our award-winning wedding dress designer - and the helm of Ronald Joyce - to discover her advice and favourite picks from our new Spring 2022 Ronald Joyce and Victoria Jane bridalwear collections. Here are Veni’s firm favourites.
Handpicked from our Victoria Jane collection, Veni loves styles 18611 - our exquisite halter neck lace dress for the bold boho bride - and 18621 - our striking tulle and lace applique coat to match style 18620, which she cites as “perfect for making a memorable moment when walking down the aisle."
Picking style 18611 off the rail, Veni adds: “I particularly love the distinctive and daring details of the leg splits and striking open back. It’s like no other wedding dress and was designed with a fashion-forward boho bride in mind, so I’d love to see an Ibiza-loving fashionista style it on her wedding day.”
Veni continues: “Style 18620 is a striking lace and tulle wedding dress with a feminine fit and flare silhouette, beautiful buttoned back and sweetheart neckline complete with intricate illusion plunge neckline. I created the matching coat (style 18621) to add a different dimension to the dress and offer an alternative look that effortlessly takes brides from day to night. And by adding statement shoulders, I wanted to appeal to bold brides wanting to create that gasp as they walk down the aisle.”
Turning to her signature Ronald Joyce collection, Veni points out four dresses that offer very different styles - 69701, 69712, 69716 and 69717.
Style 69701 is a striking A-line wedding dress featuring delicate bead details, decorative lace applique floral touches, an illusion v-neckline and matching v-shape back with bridal buttons cascading down a tulle skirt.
“I love the uniqueness of this dress!” exclaims Veni. “It has boho vine-inspired lace, a unique crossover tulle plunge and is both whimsical and sultry” Veni adds, pointing to the floral appliques and an intricate illusion bodice and dramatic split.
Moving to style 69712, an exquisitely pearl-beaded fit and flare gown in glitter tulle with delicate straps and a sweetheart neckline, Veni gasps. “The detail in this dress is simply stunning, isn’t it?” Agreeing, we stand and admire the heavily beaded detailing, recalling how popular it was at our Harrogate launch.
Style 69716 ensues - a striking tulle and lace applique fit and flare dress with complementing illusion, full sleeves and a memorable V-shaped back complete with button and bustle detailing. Veni glances at the gown before stating: “I don’t know where to begin with this style. From the beautiful illusion sleeve to the breath-taking lace applique details and open back, this dress has it all - and then there’s the sheer A-line overskirt for creating a completely new look without the need to buy a second dress.”
Pausing before pointing out her final pick, Veni reaches for style 69717 - an exquisite A-line featuring a lace illusion high neckline with matching long sleeves, beautiful button detailing, 3D flowers, and an organza and tulle skirt complete with an integrated cathedral train. “Style 69717 is the show-stopping gown of the season,” Veni explains before adding: “I designed it with Italian brides (and full-sleeve fans) in mind who seek a demure look but want that memorable silhouette as they walk down the aisle.” It’s the style Veni chose for her daughter Claudia and was recently adorned by both Lily Collins and Paris Hilton on their wedding days.
This exquisite A-line wedding dress has a stunning lace illusion high neckline with matching long sleeves.
As we leave the preview and say our goodbyes, we can’t help thinking 2022 is going to be an exciting year.
