Jamie and I met when we were teenagers and saw each other at the occasional social event. It wasn’t until our mid-twenties that we finally became official.
He proposed on the top of a hill near a beautiful chapel in Cyprus during the sunset. They had trees where thousands of people had tied ribbons on and made wishes. We tied our own ribbon and made a wish. Jamie then said, "I wished that one day I would marry you", and then got down on one knee and proposed. We couldn't stop smiling for the rest of that holiday!
We had to postpone the wedding for a year due to the pandemic, which was stressful, but the last couple of months run up to it was fun. My best friend (Lauren Ashleigh) and my brother (Steven) were with me every step of the way. Even doing my make up and hair.
We wanted our wedding to be timeless, where everyone could feel relaxed. I wanted the same for my dress, were I looked elegant and effortlessly beautiful. The venue Bassmead Manor Barns, St Neots, fitted into our theme perfectly, making the wedding feel warm and intimate.

Walking into Fleur De Lys Bridal in Saffron Walden, Essex, I had an idea of the style I wanted. From my description store recommend me the Dina wedding dress, style 69512, which they didn’t have a sample of. However, they kindly ordered it in for me to try and as soon as I put this dress on, I knew it was the one.
It had beautiful modern lace details along the full sleeves, that I had never seen before. The shimmer in the light from the beading bodice was magnificent, and the solid white lower half really complemented the lacing and beaded work. I knew it was a dress like no other. It was timeless, and I had to get married in it.
The wedding itself was beautiful, though nothing ran as planned. 40 minutes before we were due to start, the groom realised that his shoes were 3 sizes too small. Luckily his best man pulled through, going to the nearest town to purchases some shoes. This was all unknown to me, as I was still getting ready.
Apart from that our wedding was perfect, walking down the aisle, I had planned to take my time for everyone to soak up the experience, but when I saw Jamie that all went out the window. I had tunnel vison; all I could see as my husband.
We even had a double rainbow after the ceremony, which is memory that will stay with us forever.

My advice from any future would be don’t stress the small stuff, make sure you invest your money on a beautiful dress that you feel comfortable and confident in.
