How did you meet your husband?

It was in a bar in Bishops Stortford. I used to work as a cabin crew member and on this one particular night we had a night out for cabin crew staff only. James wasn't cabin crew but pretended to be, so he could get in. I saw him across the bar and I just knew, I even told my mum that night that I met the man I was going to marry.

How did you personalise your wedding day?

We had polaroid photos of our guests as their place cards and made little amaretto shots for our favours. We used hydrangeas for the bouquets and center pieces as they were my grandad’s favourite flowers. We had a crispy kreme donut tower instead of a cake as we love donuts and we made little cork people for our ladder table plan and bride and groom for the cake topper. We also used music in the wedding that was personal to us and had an amazing DJ that played all of our favourite songs, actually our wedding turned into a bit of a rave by the end of the night which was so much fun!

Tell us about the dress.

I really wanted an illusion neckline dress, they are just so pretty. I wanted something elegant and classic with an edge and that is what Ronald Joyce is known for. I ended up choosing "Jamie", which is style 18057 from the Victoria Jane Collection. I found shopping for dresses really fun but also difficult as I wasn't very keen on many dresses – I’m a ‘I know what I like’ sort of person. I knew when I saw “Jamie” online it was perfect for me. I went to my nearest bridal store that stocked the “Jamie” which was Fleur de Lys Bridal in Saffron Walden and tried on a few more as well but after I tried each one, I kept going back to Jamie and that’s when I know it was the one for me.

Do you have any tips for future brides?

It's your day so make it about you as a couple. Make it personal. Don't stress about the little things and just enjoy every minute of the day as it goes so fast. Try to spend your day with your husband having fun and embracing each moment.

Is there anything else you would like to share about your big day?

We enjoyed planning our wedding together and making it personal to us. We worked so hard to save for our dream wedding and everything went perfectly. I felt amazing in my Ronald Joyce dress and had so many compliments. I couldn't have asked for more.
