In todays blog we will be taking a close-up look at our wonderful fabrics used throughout the new Spring 2021 collection – hitting stores in January 2021.
Mikado
A luxurious type of satin used in gowns that need to hold their structure. Seen here in Florence Style 69617, the stiffness of the fabric helps to keep the collar, sleeves and neckline in shape. It is a heavier weight fabric but is surprisingly cool to wear.
Jersey
Jersey is soft and light fabric, which is highly flexible.
Crepe
A very graceful fabric. It is a light fabric perfect for summer weddings and has a slight textured, almost crimped appearance. It is wonderful for creating drapes as seen here in our Violet gown style number 18501 and matching cape – sold separately as style 18502.
If you like this fabric you might like to look at Willia, style 18466 or Wera 18460.
Lace
The classic bridal fabric, comes in many shapes and forms. The main types of lace you will find in our wedding dresses are Alencon lace – a classic French lace usually floral in design on a sheer net background, Venetian lace – usually chunkier, layered designs, Embroidered lace – needlework tightly stitched onto illusion backgrounds and Chantilly lace – very fine detail. Ferdinanda, style 69608, is a perfect example of lace intricately stitched onto tulle. This is a very fresh on-trend look for the fashion-conscious bride.
If lace is the fabric for you check out 69602 Freya, or for a more chunky lace you might want to look at 69606 Felicity, or 69607 Francesca.
Tulle
Tulle is a mesh-like woven fabric fantastic for layering and adding volume. Used here to create our flowing A-line ballgown Veronica, style 18507 it creates a fantastic silhouette and is finished with lace embroidery.
Satin
An alluring shimmering fabric we often see in bridal gowns. Wanita 18417 is a fabulous all over satin gown.
