I met Paul at work, we both work for a ferry company in the offices, and I asked him if he could purchase a case of prosecco on his next trip for my Mum. That’s how it all started, and he now says it’s the most expensive case of prosecco he has ever brought.
He proposed to me at the top of the Shard in London on my birthday weekend in 2018, which was in my mind the most perfect proposal ever.
Our theme was very simple. A summer wedding with dusky pinks, greenery, flowers, a cake display and along the way added in balloons and neon lighting. We had personalised boards/mirrors and name places and table names of all the places we have visited in the U.S. We choice the Old Kent Barn as are venue. We thought that it fit in perfectly with our theme and was beautiful. I wanted to look and feel amazing on my day, and I did and had so many compliments of my amazing wedding dress.
I had no idea what kind of dress I wanted. I didn’t know what would suit me or the style that would fit my theme. Luckily the ladies at Ivy Rose Bridal were amazing. They helped me choose the dress by guiding me in my decision making to find one that fitted my style and personality perfectly.
I chose the Caelyn (69407) and instantly left in love with it. They had it hanging in the shop on a model, and it looked gorgeous and expensive but also had a beautiful sparkle. It was love at first sight. I tried on 5 dresses but knew that the Caelyn was the one.
I loved the sheer bodice and strapless sweetheart neckline with the detailed beading. It looked expensive and classy, yet also timeless.
I adored the under layer of sparkle on the skirt, which made me feel like a princess.
I literally loved it straight away, as did my entourage. I had so many comments on the day of my wedding about how gorgeous the dress was and still am getting compliments now. I wish I could wear it again I felt like a true princess bride.
The day went perfectly. I felt beautiful and really at ease. The staff at the Old Kent Barn were are true experts and everything was perfect. I highly recommend them for the most magical day.
My favourite part of the day was getting ready together with my Mum and Sisters and also to walk down the aisle with my Dad and seeing how happy both of our parents were whilst we were exchanging our vows.
My advice for future brides would have to be to enjoy every minute of your day, don’t get stressed it all works out in the end, relax, and have fun and dance. Most importantly make sure you spend time with your new partner on the best day of your lives and reflect on all that you have achieved.
