Hello, my name is Beth, and my partner (new husband!) is called Luke. I met Luke at a bar where he worked and had an instant connection. He proposed in front of a fountain in Dublin Ireland while on a couple’s holiday with our friends. It was really special to have our friends around us for that special moment and of course I said yes. I am a social care worker who works with adults with learning difficulties, I have a 12-year-old son who is also autistic and suffers with ADHD, but he is the most amazing young man who I am very proud of. I also have I have a 10-year-old jack Russel named Milo James

We decided that we wanted to have a destination wedding rather than to have one hear. So, we picked the beautiful Olympic lagoon resort Paphos Cyprus. The venue was stunning; we couldn’t have asked for a better location.  

Wedding planning was especially fun for me as during the covid lockdown I could not work due to some health issues, so I was able to put all my energy into the wedding. We decided that we did not want to have a wedding theme and instead decided that we wanted to have a destination wedding in the sun and decided on Cyprus, where we got married overlooking the sea.

When it came to picking my wedding dress, I thought that I always wanted to wear a ball gown style dress, like a fairy-tale. I must have tried on over 50 gowns and couldn’t find ‘The One’.  The last store I went to was called All About Eve bridal in Newport south Wales. I had a vision in mind all a ball gown dress but the lady at All About Eve had a different vision in mind. Nicole (one of the ladies who works there) pulled a wild card which happened to be the Ronald Joyce Teegan wedding dress. It is a stunning mermaid style and I fell in love with her instantly and knew she had to be the one. The Teegan gown had the sparkle I was looking for, the corset gave me the confidence in my body as I am a curvier woman, and the bottom of the dress gave me the feeling of a ball gown, so I had the best of both a ball gown and fitted dress in one. I would 1000% recommend this store.

The wedding day ran as smooth as I had hoped, beautiful weather and beautiful setting. 

The only hiccups were that they had not told the Luke (the groom) that the officiant was running late. Bless him, he thought I was not coming. They had also messed up my ceremony entrance music, but it did not spoil our day at all.

I honestly do not have a favourite part of the day as the whole day was the best experience ever!
